Begin by applying to BCTC Request More Information

If you wish to apply, please start by applying to BCTC. Later, you will need to apply to the University of Kentucky.

If you are interested in pursuing a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Lean Systems Engineering Technology, you should apply for the Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Integrated Engineering Technology through the BCTC application. If you are interested in the BS in Computer Engineering Technology, please apply for the AAS in Computer Engineering Technology through the BCTC application or the AAS in Computer Engineering Technology through the WKCTC application.

BCTC will be your home institution until you complete all the requirements for an AAS degree. Once you fulfill the requirements for the AAS degree and meet the admission criteria established by the UK College of Engineering and Engineering Technology program, you will need to apply to UK as a transfer student or any other applicable status type. If you do not meet these requirements but wish to continue in the BS in Engineering Technology programs, you will need to take steps to fulfill the necessary criteria.

Transfer Students

Transfer students must have a minimum cumulative college GPA of 2.0 to gain admission to the UK Engineering Technology program, and they may be required to complete certain courses at BCTC.

Current UK Students Transitioning to Engineering Technology Majors

If you are currently enrolled in any of the UK Pigman College of Engineering degree programs and wish to change your major to Computer Engineering Technology or Lean Systems Engineering Technology, you must meet with your academic advisor(s) and follow the official process for changing your major as outlined by UK.

To be eligible, you need to have a cumulative college GPA of at least 2.0. Additionally, you may be required to complete some courses at BCTC.

Current BCTC Students Changing Majors into Engineering Technology

If you are currently enrolled in other majors at BCTC and wish to change your major to either the AAS in Integrated Engineering Technology or the AAS in Computer Engineering Technology in order to pursue the BS in Lean Systems Engineering Technology or the BS in Computer Engineering Technology, you must consult with your academic advisor(s). Additionally, you need to follow the appropriate process for changing your major as required by BCTC.

Please note that you must have a cumulative college GPA of at least 2.0.

UK Paducah Campus

Applying to the University of Kentucky Extended Campus Program in Paducah is easy! Follow these steps to get started.

Once admitted, students will be contacted about UK Paducah Orientation and Registration dates. For UK Paducah admissions questions, please contact Sarita Buchanan.

Complete WKCTC’s Enrollment Checklist

WKCTC will be your home college until you complete the requirements for an AAS degree.

Once you’re able to illustrate you’ve completed or are in progress (enrolled/scheduled) to complete your AAS degree, you will need to complete UK’s Admission’s process.

Students are required to meet general UK Transfer GPA Requirements (minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA). This will include ALL attempted college coursework.

Complete UK’s Transfer Application. Students will choose Computer Engineering Technology as their major and select “Paducah Campus” under the Special Programs section of the UK application.

Before applying, visit UK’s Transfer Website Transfer Tuesday dates (scroll down towards bottom). Application fees will be waived on these days.
Complete the FAFSA.
Complete Scholarship Applications
- Complete UK Paducah Scholarship Applications (Open Oct 1- March 1st), contact Director of Recruitment, Sarita Buchanan, for information.
- CET-CPT students are also eligible for UK Transfer Student Academic Scholarships (Closes June 1).
- External awards can be found on ScholarshipUniverse.

Please note: If you are transferring and have not completed your AAS degree through KCTCS, you may be required to complete courses through KCTCS. Please contact our CPT Coordinator to find out more!
